I purchased a Nokia 7370 handset from Nokia priority dealer in Jalandhar on 13/12/2006. Dealers name and address is as follows; Sigma enterprises, Sanjay Gandhi Market, BMC chowk,Jalandhar. Ph. No. 0181-5007924. The handsets cost is Rs. 12,600.
The handset gives a stand-by battery back-up only for 1 day which the company claims to be 10-12 days. I reported the same to the dealer(Mr. Happy) from where i purchased the handset on 14th december, i.e. the next day. It is a rule that if we report any defect in phone to the dealer within 48 hours of purchase, its his duty to get the handset replaced but instead he recommended me to go to service centre the next day only.
Then I had to submit the Mobile at HCL Infinet Ltd(Nokia Care Centre), Jalandhar, who inturn sent it to Chandigarh for the check-up. They returned the handset saying that the battery might be defective. I got the battery changed twice. But still the problem persists and I dont know what to do. Its been since then I have been using this defective handset which requires re-charging twice a day.


Solution of your complaintI want the Handset to be replaced with a new one. The Nokia care centres always get the handsets replaced even for minor faults but they have not been so generous in my case.  
ActionI will take the matter to consumer court.
