I purchased a Rs. 450 recharge card on 29th April, 2005 from Hyderabad as my validity was going to expire on 29.04.2005. It was mentioned on the card that the processing fee is Rs. 123.35. Talktime Rs. 285 (inclusive of Rs. 41.65 service charge). After I recharged my mobile no. 9866466490 with that card on 30th April, 2005, I found that only Rs. 158 has been added to my talktime value. When I asked for an explanation from the customer care they told me that it is because of a special offer. According to them I will be getting Rs. 250 local Airtel to Airtel talktime and Rs. 158 as normal talktime. They also told me abt a message, that I had received from Airtel on 29.04.2005, states something like: "Free recharge bonanza. recharge today with RC 450 and get the full talktime (incl. Rs. 250 local A-A)". Now my questions are: (a) the offer as circulated by Airtel was only for 29.04.2005, so how that can be applicable to me when I recharged my moblie on 30.04.2005. (b)Nowhere in that message was mentioned that the normal talktime will be affected, which really is. (c) What abt those customers who dont want to avail that offer? Why did they take the decision on behalf of us? (d) why the salesman also was unaware of this offer? because I inquired him before purchasing that recharge card.

Solution of your complaintI think they should leave the option open to the customers. If they want to avail the local talk time the could give us that. If not, they could give us the normal talk time only.
ActionI will have no other option than to go to the consumer forum
