I had decided to gift my mother, a washing machine & Microwave owen for her birthday. I visited ICE(Indian Consumer exhibition) held recently in chennai and placed an order for both(washing Machine: 6800, Microwave oven: VC 2800; both are Videocon Make) with Next chain of consumer durable on 9th July 07 (SP electronics, GP Road, Chennai).The dealer promised me to deliver on Friday(13th july 07), as i clearly told him, that the gift needs to get delivered to my mom on Saturday(her Birthday).
I did not get the order/any communication from the dealer/ sales officer. On saturday, When i tried calling the dealer office and explained him about the order, the sales rep simply banged the phone saying that he had not received the supply and that he cannot address the promise given by his colleague in the exhibition. I tried calling the sales rep & Sales officer (Chandra Sekar) who promised me delivery, they seldom picked up my call.
Then i visited the Dealer office (SP electronics). The executives called up some other Videocon Representative named Raj, who then spoke to me and promised me that it will get deliverd by Saturday evening.And i did not hear from them after that. I tried calling SP electronics office yesterday(Monday- July 16th 07). The reply was same- We havent got the supply; speak to sales officer, representative etc..on trying the effect is same- they never pick up my calls.
Now i want to know, if the consumer has to undergo so much for a simple order, why would these brands talk about customer delight; when there is no satisfaction in the first place?
The sales officer/ Rep ; dealer should know that they exist because of the customers.Atleast they should inform/address the consumer on the promise thay make on behalf of the company.
Terribly frustrated, i have decided not accept the order any more. If not able to gift my mother is a pain; the kind of treatment given to me from the dealer, Company representatives really frustrated me.
