I purchased the Long distance calling card from Airtel outlet in RA Puram in Chennai last week.
While purchasing the card, I checked up with Airtel sales personnel about the validity of the card. She replied that it was valid for 90 days from the date of first use and I purchased 2 cards of Rs 112 each in value.
When I first used the card, I got the voice message that the a/c balance is Rs 100 and subsequently the message that the A/c is locked.
I callled up the customer care no and the person after checking the card details in the system told me to my surprise, that the card validty was expired. I could no longer use that card. When I told her that it was purchased only a week back and this was the first use, she replied that the card validity had already expired and nothing she can do
This was shocking and then I discovered from the fine-prints in the cardthat the validity is upto 6th Aug 07. The sales personnel in the Airtel outlet had sold me the already expired card which I was not aware. Whether she had done it purposely or out of ignorance I do not know.
 

Solution of your complaintAirtel should replace the cards purchased by me and take action against the Airtel sales personnel
