The service of Airtel is appalling. On 21st August 2007 I refilled my cell but when I tried calling afterwards my call was barred and I heard this message stating that I need to submit the relevant documents to the nearest AirteL office and my service will be restored within 24 hrs. The reasons for my complaint are as follows:
1.) I have had this number for just over a year but in this time Airtel has asked for Id proof twice already and this is the third time they are asking again.
2.) I called the customer service number 9892098920 on 23 August and spoke to a person who said that I neednt submit any documents and my service will be restored within half an hour. However, this never happened. On th next day I went to the Borivali Gallery and the girl at the front desk said that they are doing reverfication because I must have not given some proof.
The thing I dont understand is if I had not submitted the correct documents how did they restore my service last time.
3.) Today ,I went again to submit my documents to the Airtel Gallery and a guy said that my service will be restored on Friday. He said that their back office does not work on saturdays and sundays, and it takes 48 WORKING hours for them to process the papers. (Pls note the voice message says 24 HOURS and not working hours). He also said that they are reverifying the documents for users whi have ahd their service for more than 3 yrs but I have had this Sim card for just over a year
Now I am a working individual who is incapacitated when I dont have a phone with me. Frankly I am shocked at their service. The Borivali gallery staff is deliberatelty not restoring my service (dont know why!) because when I was there today the lady in front of me was assured that her service will be restored within an hour.

|Solution of your complaint||Restore my service at once, and reprimand the gallery front office staff, responsible for reactivation
The call centre staff is also useless because they are never helpful and can never provide a solution. |
|Action||Switch providers because I am frankly fed up and upset with this matter. |
