I have brought APC Back-UPS ES 500 for my wireless router (approx 12W load) power supply in case of power failure. Recently I have noticed that UPS is getting shutdown within 6 mins of power failure. I have called APC tech support for resolving this issue. They have told me that I need to connect at least 50W of load so that it will work as per the specs. This minimum load was not mentioned in the manual or "Run Time Chart" (provided at their website). After a long discussion they have accepted that it was not mentioned in the manual or "Run Time Chart". I have asked them to provide any alternative solution, they have suggest to connect 50W bulb or computer system or music system in addition to the wireless router. These solutions are not acceptable to me as it will increase unnecessary power consumption and also it will increase my electricity bill and also they are not environment friendly. I have requested them to replace my current UPS with any other UPS (available with them) that can work with this load, I am surprised to hear that exchange option is not provided in India!!!
|Solution of your complaint||Provide me with a replacement UPS that will work with this 12W load and also it should support a load of 300 W (in case if I want to connect bigger load).
I will return back their UPS and provide me full refund. |
|Action||I will goto consumer forum and file a suit against APC for misleading consumers. In the suit I will ask them to refund my full money and also a Public Apology (printed in all leading news papers nation wide) for misleading consumers. |
