SIR I MR MANISH RATHOD HAD WATCHED CELL GURU PROGRAM AND WAS VERY IMPRESSED BY THE RAVE REVIEWS AND PRAISES OF THE NOKIA N 76 BY THE ANCHOR AND ALSO THE TWO NOKIA OFFICIALS WHO WERE INVITED GUEST ON THE SHOW
UNDER THE IMPRESSION THAT IT WAS A NICE PHONE AFTER WATCHING YOUR PROGRAM I DECIDED TO BUY IT FOR MY WIFE AS A GIFT FOR HER. I BOUGHT A NEW N 76 NOKIA BL ACK COLOUR PHONE FROM THE MOBILE STORE DAHISAR MUMBAI ON 08/07/2007 VIDE INVOICE NO MH/01145/00001/2139 WITH THE PHONE IMEI NO 353954010478171.FOR RS 17541. THIS WAS A VERY BIG AMOUNT FOR A MIDDLE CLASS PERSON LIKE ME . I THOUGHT THAT MY WIFE WOULD USE THE PHONE TO TAKE PHOTOS AND RECORD MY ONE YEAR OLD SMALL DAUGHTER FOR OUR RECORD PURPOSE
SIR I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND THAT ON THE NEXT DAY ONLY THE PHONE STARTED HANGING UP AND GETTING SHUT DOWN ON ITS OWN WHEN I REPORTED THIS MATTER TO THE RETAILER i..e THE MOBILE STORE DAHISAR I WAS ASSURED THAT IT WAS NOT A SERIOUS MATTER AND I MUST HAVE NOT CHARGED THE PHONE COMPLETELY BUT WHEN MY PHONE STARTED GIVING THE SAME PROBLEM I VISTED THE STORE AND ON MY INSISTENCE THEY TOOK MY PHONE AND AGREED TO SEND IT TO CUSTOMER CARE OF NOKIA. FIRST I WAS GIVEN 09/08/2007 AS A DELIVERY DATE AND LATER I WAS GIVEN 16/08/2007 AS A DELIVER DATE. WHEN I TOOK THE DELIVERY ON 16/8/2007. I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND THE PHONE SWITCH OFF ON ITS OWN ON 17TH MORNING EVEN THOUGH I HAD FULLY CHARGED THE PHONE IN THE NIGHT. WHEN I HAD GONE TO TAKE THE DELIVERY THE STORE PEOPLE HAD ASSURED ME THAT THE PHONE WAS COMPLETELY FINE AND WORKING NICELY . WHEN I ENQUIRED THAT IF THE PROBLEM OCCURRED AGAIN THEN WHAT . THEY SAID THAT YOUR
PHONE WILL BE REPLACED BY NOKIA UNDER THEIR WARRANTY SCHEME.
MY JOB SHEET NUMBER FOR THE REPAIR WAS 066434038/070731/49 DATE 31/7/2007.WHEN ON 17TH I VISTED MY RETAILER TO COMPLAIN I WAS VERY RUDELY TOLD THAT THE MOBILE STORE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH MY PHONE AND THE MATTER WAS BETWEEN ME AND NOKIA. WHEN I QUESTIONED THEIR BEHAVIOUR AT TIS TYPE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE THEY SAID THAT BOTH NOKIA AUR MOBILE STORE KO MALUM HAI KI SAU PIECE MEIN SE DUS KHARAB NIKALTE HI HAI AUR YEH TO APKA NASEEB HAI KI APKO YE PIECE MILA. ABHI AAP NOKIA SE DEAD ON ARRIVAL CERTIFICATE JAKE LOA TAB HI KUCH HO SAKTA HAI. I WAS SHOCKED AT THIS TYPE OF BEHAVIOUR AND WHWN I VISITED NOKIA CARE CENTRE I WAS TOLD THAT THEY WOULD REPAIR IT AGAIN AND AGAIN AND THAT THERE WAS A VERY SLIM CHANCE OF MY PHONE BEING REPLACED. FURTHERMORE THEY SAID THAT AS MY PIECE WAS MANUFACTERED IN CHINA IT HAD A VER HIGH CHANCE OF GETTING FAULTY.
SIR I KINDLY REQUEST YOU TO HELP ME OUT IN THIS MATTER AS I AM TOTALLY HELPLESS AGAINST TWO BIG BUSINESS HOUSES [NOKIA AND MOBILE STORE ] I HAD EVEN SENT 2 EMAILS TO NOKIA UPDATING THEM A
BOUT THE FAULT IN MY PHONE THROUGH THEIR SITE i.e my nokia.com WHERE I AM A REGISTERED MEMBER BUT I HAVE NOT GOT ANY RESPONSE. S

FURTHER MORE AFTER MY TALK WITH MADAME PINKY SHARMA ON PHONE AND AN ASSURANCE FROM HER TO LOOK INTO THIS MATTER I HAD A CALL FRO M ONE MISS NAMRATA FROM BRIGHT POINT OF LOWER PAREL WHICH IS THE HEAD NOKIA CUSTOMER CENTRE IN MUMBAI WITH A REQUEST TO VISIT THEIR PLACE TO SORT OUT MY MATTER. WHEN I VISITED THEM ON 6/9/2007 I HAD TO WAIT FOR 2 HOURS AND WHEN MY TURN CAME WITH VISITOR NUMBER PA 881 I WAS TOLD BY THE ENGINEER WITHIN 2 MINUTES THAT MY BATTERY WAS FAULTY AND NEEDED TO BE REPLACED TO SOLVE MY PROBLEM WHEN I ASKED HIM WHY THIS MATTER WAS NOT SORTED AT THE FIRST INSTANCE ( i.e job sheet no 066434038/070731/49) HE GAVE AN EVASIVE REPLY. ON HIS ASSURANCE I GOT MY BATTERY REPLACED FROM THEM WITH THE THOUGHT THAT IT WOULD BRING A END TO MY PROBLEMS. BUT AFTER I REACHED HOME AND FULLY CHARGED MY BATTERY FOR 5 HOURS I WAS SHOCKED TO FIND THAT MY PHONE SHOWED ONLY ONE BAR OF CHARGING AND GOT SWITCHED OF INSTANTLY. WHEN I RANG UP NOKIA CARE AGAIN I WAS TOLD THAT AGAIN I WOULD HAVE TO GET MY PHONE CHECKED FOR REPAIR.
I WOULD LIKE TO ASK YOU IS THAT HOW MANY TIMES DOES A NEW BRAND PHONE HAS TO BE REPAIRED TO START WORKING PROPERLY AND ARE THERE NO QUALITY CHECKS IN YOUR COMPANY BEFORE A NEW PIECE IS SEND OUT IN THE MARKET. ONE OF YOUR EXECUTIVES TOLD ME THAT WE CANNOT TOTALLY GAURANTEE ANY ELECTRONIC ITEM FOR A SMOOTH WORKING. IT MEANS THAT WE HAVE TO BELIEVE ON OUR LUCK AND FAITH WHILE BUYING EXPENSIVE PHONES
I KINDLY REQUEST YOU TO LOOK INTO THE MATTER AS IT IS A LONG TIME SINCE MY PURCHASE AND I AM UNABLE TO USE MY PHONE DUE TO NO FAULT OF MINE AND MISS IMPORTANT CALLS OF MY FRIENDS AND COLLEAGES THEREBY AFFECTING MY PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL LIFE

ActionMAY BE I WILL GO TO CONSUMER COURT BECAUSE BEFORE 2 DAYS ONLY MUMBAI MIRROR REPORTED A CASE WHERE NOKIA HAD TO PAY A CUSTOMER LIKE ME THE COST OF PHONE PLUS LEGAL CHARGES AND PENALTY FOR MENTAL AGONY AND HARASSMENT
