Dear Sir,

Sub: Regarding repeated problems encountered in Nokia N73 handset.

I had purchased a NOKIA Mobile Phone, MODEL N73-Music Edition, IMEI No. 353641014366946, from ‘THE MOBILE STORE, Pushpa Market-Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi on 28th April, 2007.

1) Ever since I bought the cell, I have been facing some or the other problem with the handset. It started with poor connectivity which initially I thought was because of poor network services. But when I changed the handset all my signal/connectivity problems were solved.

2) The major problem started when one day my phone switched off on its own didn’t start after that-even though the battery was fully charged. I submitted my N73 handset and registered the complaint with Nokia Care Centre-NRI COMMUNICATION in Lajpat Nagar. (Complaint no : 070915/19). The software of the phone was reinstalled and it started working fine. However after that the problems became more grave and frequent.

While installing the software, one game (Sudoku) and one menu option (Search) got missed out. I brought this to the notice of Nokia Care but they asked me to continue using the cell in same way.

3) Apart from software problems now a hardware problem surfaced in which the memory card (miniSD-2 GB) became inaccessible. While in use, all of sudden the cell closes all applications and given error message that “the memory card not accessible, phone memory will be used instead”. I again lodged the complaint with Nokia Care (Complaint no: 071006/25) in which I demanded immediate attention to the problem raised and demanded a Replacement. The service engineer said that the issue is serious and they need to send the cell to the head office (Okhla Indst Area). I was assured that the phone will be replaced in a week or so. However within an hour I was informed that the phone was repaired and I can collect it. While checking the phone in front of service engineer we found that the problem is intact and no changes were made in the cell.

4) That is then I lodged my THIRD COMPLAINT (Complaint no : 071008/47). The problems remains same and yet there is no solution to that. I work with an MNC and mobile phone is an integral part of my job. Because of continual problems either my cell is in non working condition or is with the Nokia Care for the “repair”

I have been using Nokia phones since years and I had full faith in the after sales services of Nokia. However the recent problems has shattered my confidence in Nokia Products and Services.

I hereby make it clear that I have been suffering ever since I bought the handset, i.e., more than six months, for no fault of mine. . Even after spending Rs 20,000 no satisfaction has been derived from the product N73. I have had a taste of Nokia’s so called “superior service”. In fact I am yet to come across such a major company which first promises and guarantees to replace its product, and then leads its customers along a wild goose chase unto oblivion.
