I was looking for broadband internet connection and contacted Hathway. In turn Somashekhar (+91 9972800881) called me back and I decided on 512KB three-month plan. Everything was smooth until the point he got the cheque and an engineer (Sanjay) installed the cabling and modem on 29.11.2007.

From then on till today there has been practically no service at all. I have so far contacted Hathway helpline at least 7 seven times and had innumerable calls with various individuals – Tariq, Archana, Hamid, Farid, Sadiq, Ganesh, Somashekhar, with no result. On 30th one engineer made a visit and stated it was working but it stopped almost immediately after he left. I had a call on 1st about 4PM stating problem has been rectified but it wasn’t working. I had a similar call on 3rd morning but it was still not working. Of course Somashekhar is not interested anymore as he has collected his cheque and therefore disconnected when I called to inform of the problems.

Effectively no service exists and there is no visible intent to set it right except apologizing and asking for 24 hours every day for the last 5 days !!

Solution of your complaintNothing. Some people did mention that Hathway is a problem but I had little choice due to its monopoly in the area. They will continue with this drama until the three-month period is over with on and off connection  
ActionI am sending a compaint to thei Bangalore office, copy to corporate office - cc to their MD. I am also trying to find details of the consumer grievance redressal forum and understand the procedures and options. If any help can be provided on this it will be great.
