I bought a Maruti Esteem Lxi (Model: May 2002) from True Value at Maruti Service Masters. Okhla Industrial Estate, New Delhi, in July 2006. After completion of warranty period I noticed that the car was consuming substantial engine oil. Several Complaints to MSM and repairs carried out by MSM the problem could not be rectified. Apprehending defective engine my request for free of cost repairing of engine was declined by MSM. The mechanics of other workshops confirmed that either “ring” or the “piston” or both need replacement but also expressed surprise the need of such a replacement in a car which has run only 66,000 kms.
|Solution of your complaint||Since it is a manufacturing defect in the engine, the same should be replaced free of cost either by Maruti Udyog Ltd or by True Value who has sold me this “certified” car with a defective engine.
I demand immediate action by Maruti Udyog Ltd and True Value to rectify the above problem to enable me to have a sound running car, which the True Value claims.
|Action||On failure of redressal of my above grievance within 15 days I would be constrained to approach the consumer court for appropriate action in the matter.
