I am Deepa, mother of Varsha D who has attended the summer camp at Kara HSR for the last two days (22nd & 23rd April). I am unhappy with their insensitive attitude towards children & parents & want her to discontinue after the two day experience. When I communicated the same to them on the morning of 24th April 08, they have refused to refund the amount of Rs 56000 that I had paid them two days ago.

My child has been attending a daycare center for the last year and a half & is very comfortable in the same. However at Kara she was unhappy & said that she would not go back. I spent about half day with her at kara to help her adjust and I knew why she was not happy. The members of the staff kept shouting at the children & even my presence at the center was not appreciated. I had to leave because of the hostile attitude.

On Monday, 21st April evening, I met Ms Minu who had asked me to fill out the application form & collected Rs 56000 from me in Cash for the purpose of admission to the day care starting June 2008. In return I was given a receipt which does not provide information regarding what the amount was collected for. I have not been given any other document to support an admission.

My child was not comfortable at Kara and this morning I have kept Minu & Manjula (Accounts) informed of my decision to discontinue & have requested them to please return the money collected from me since I have got back to them with my decision in two days and I am sure this decision of mine has in no way impacted the business of Kara nor has it led to Kara incurring any losses. I fail to understand why my money cannot be reimbursed.

Manjula & Minu drew my attention to the terms & conditions which I was to have read before signing the application form. The point I would like to make is that when they have not followed the terms & conditions (listed below) why am I being held hostage to the terms and conditions of Kara.
- No one at the center took the time or initiative to take me through anything regarding the terms & conditions
- I have not made full payment
- The receipt I have does not say that the money was collected towards admission
- I have not received any communication regarding the confirmation of admission
- The terms & conditions clearly say that cash payments will not be accepted, but, still cash was collected from me
- I was told that the seat will be confirmed once I make full payment (which I have still not made). Which means that I logically have not secured an admission
- I am not sure how the organization could take the call on considering my decision made & now fail to return my money. I

I have not been provided the contact number of the CEO & have been asked to write to her to fix up an appointment.

The employees at kara are a bunch of insensitive and unprofessional lot. I would discourage parents with sensitive children to please think twice before enrolling them at Kara.
 

Solution of your complaintSince there has been no valid & complete contract agreed into, I would like to have full reimbursement of Rs 56000 at the earliest 
ActionI will be sending Kara Kindergarten: Extended Preschool & Daycare Centre a legal notice shortly through the consumer court for poor services and for harrassment causing my child and me mental agony.
