I have been an Airtel post paid connection since the past 2 years now. This is my primary number and I was quite happy with the way it was managed. The trouble started when Airtel offered me an add-on connection to this number that I accepted.

Around the end of November 2007, I requested Airtel customer service to discontinue the add-on number. The customer service executive confirmed this on December 04, 2007 that the same was cancelled. Despite this, they have been charging me monthly rental for this add-on number for the months: December, January, February, March and April 2008.

I raised this issue with the Airtel Customer Service on February 28, 2008 and since then I have been tackling with their pathetic customer commitments. After a chain of email followups and calls to their customer care number: 121 - even till date (30, April 2008). I have so far made 14 followups in all across the last 2 months (9 emails, and 5 phone calls to 9845012345).

The irony of the situation has been that even now, month after month - they are charging me the monthly rental for this cancelled number, along with my primary accounts bill. The irony is that even whilst they ACCEPT that it is a problem from their side - there is absolutely nothing that is been done!!

I would therefore strongly recommend all readers not to stop for an Airtel postpaid connection.

Solution of your complaintSend me a revised bill and email stating that the additional charges have been withdrawn. the charges to the  
ActionGo to the consumer court and file a case against Airtel for harassing customers and charging them additional payments without rhyme or reason. Apart from this, none of their customer service executives can live up to their own words - and I think this will be an important step for them to treat their customers fairly.
