I bought a Maruti 800 pre owned car (True Value !!!)from Aalianz automobiles, Kamal cinema Building,Safder Jung Enclave, New Delhi in October 2003. I was told that the car has been refurbished at Aalianz automobiles workshop and has been certified by Maruti engineer. Also, that the car was in excellent working condition after refurbishment. The odometer was showing a little more than 46000 kms on the date of
purchase.
After taking test drive before purchase, I asked them some questions regarding the problem nos. 1,2,3,4,5 and 9. I was told by their sales representatives that
everything will be corrected before delivery of car. But that was not done.

The problems started on the day of purchase when (problem no. 1) the car refused to start when I stopped at a signal after driving about one Km from Aalianz showroom. Aalianz changed the battery but the problem continued.
All these problems were there from the date of purchase.
(no.2) clutch (worn out),
(3.) brakes (failing sometimes due to fluid passing through muster cylinder piston),
(no.4) axle (noise from axle)
(no. 5) Wheel bearings making noise while driving
(no.6) Shock absorbers of the rear side not working.
(no. 7) Horn does not work when I turn the steering wheel.
(no. 8 ) Stepney provided with the car does not fit with the car as it is of some other car.
(no. 9) Accelerator pedal is quite jam and resistance is felt while pressing it.

Among these complaints, Aalianz only accepted problem no. 8, and replaced the wrong stepney with a correct one.

For the rest of the complaints I had to pay for correction / repair /replacements as there was no positive response from Aalianz, I was not even allowed
to meet the MD of Aalianz. On my repeated complaints, Aalianz advised me to get the car serviced at their workshop at my cost. I had to do this as Aalianz
representatives at showroom told me that once the car is sold nothing can be done, and all repairs will be chargeable.

The remedy of the above complaints was done as follows :
No. 1 - Chargeable repair (replacement of faulty parts) at my cost.
No. 2 – Chargeable repair(replacement of clutch) at my cost, but it still does not work satisfactorily.
No. 3 – Chargeable repair (replacement of faulty parts), at my cost.
No. 4 – Chargeable repair – wrong side axle changed at first at my cost. Problem continued, and then the faulty axle was changed again at my cost.
No. 5 - Chargeable repair, Bearings changed at my cost.
No. 6 – Chargeable repair, replaced at my cost.
No. 7 – Aalianz could not repair it on 3 attempts, on the third time they did not charge me service charge as it was a repeat problem. And till date the problem
is there.
No. 9 – The problem is still there.

Other than the above, recently I had to do major work
with the shock absorbing system on the front side, and
cooling fan starting system. Also there were some small repairs. After purchase till date I have run the car less than 36000 kms . The odometer reading as on
date is 82002 kms only.
The magnitude of repair and replacement was such huge that I could not afford to do it at once. And till date some like no. 2, 7 and 9 are pending. I am surprised as I haven’t used the car much, and had to spend so much on it after purchase. What is the benefit of purchasing a maruti certified car, when it
costs more and has problems in it.

I had written this to maruti on their feedback form, but there was no response from them. The nature of my job was such that I didn’t have time to do repeated
follow ups or take action other than visit the workshop with my car for repairs.

I was not given any invoice while I bought the car. I have the service/ parts replacement bills. I do have the certification letter from maruti about the cars good condition.

I want to know from Maruti that is this the way of doing business ? or this is how they should deal with customers? I feel that Maruti should pay for these repairs/ replacements, but there is no response from Maruti.

Solution of your complaintMaruti and Aalianz automobiles to bear / refund / reimburse all my expenses after replacement of parts of the car and service charges including taxes and duties. Written explanation from Maruti regarding the reason of selling a defective product, and compelling me to repair that at my cost. 
ActionI will go to consumer forum / consumer court for justice.
