I brought a sony ericson W580i in the month of Aug from The Mobile Store - FC Road Pune. The stopped working in the month of Sep. All of a sudden it just refused to turn on. Since it had hardly been a month since the purchase i went back to the Mobile Store. The rep there made me wait for over 45 mins. After 45 mins he took my phone and simply asked me to go to the service station. He didnt even bother to check what was wrong with my phone. I had to raise my voice oly then did he try to check the charger and the battery. Eventually he asked me to go to the service centre. He did not even bother to give me the number of the service centre.
The phone was obviously within warranty, However, it states on the waranty card that the warranty will not be applicable if not stamped and signed by the dealer. Both the signature and stamp were missing
I called up the number mentioned on the box and got tp know thar another branch of The Mobile Store is an authorised service centre for sony ericsson. I went there to submit my phone for a replacmanet or repair. At 2 pm in the afternoon the engineer hadnt show up to work. I submitted my phone there to one of the reps. He took a copy of my bill and wrote th battery number on it and advised me to call in the evening.
I called in the vevning andgot to know that the engineer (Sambhaji) hadnt shown up to work. I called the next day- after 2pm, and the engineer did not even know there was a W580i in the shop for repair. He advised me to call after 2 day. I called after 2 days to be informed again to call back after 2 more days. This was on a friday. I called back on a Monday. The engineer said that there was something wron with my battery and call back after 2 more days to know the status.
In the mean time i sent an email both to The Mobile Store and Sony ericson customer care and just got automated replies stating to call their customer care number. I called the sony Ericson customer care number and spoke to someone call Ajay. Ajay was asking me details like the jobsheet number and IMEI number which the rep did not give me when i submitted the phone. Ajay seems to think its my falut that i did not tke these things from the rep. I finally got the IMEI number from my reciept and called back. This sony ericsson rep said that this info is not enough and need the jobsheet number. I called back the engineer from the Mbile store for the jobsheet number and doesnt seem to have it.
Last 1 week i have been calling daily to follow up on the status and now the engineer doesnt even know what is wrong with my phone.
Itsbeen over 2 weeks that my phone is with the service centre and they havent yet determined what is wrong with my phone.
There is a Vast differnce between the pre and post sales services.
I am consumer who paid hard erarned money to buy a new phone and i feel cheated!!!
