Complaint dated : 8th October 08 :
I am using phone number 9871292341. This phone was under corporate
connection with Apeejay Surrendra Ltd. which was transfered in my name by
submitting NOC from HR Coordinator of Apeejay around mid of August 08. I
had submitted the NOC in person at your Vaishali Sector 4 Ghzbd Airtel
Service Centre and was told by the executive that he cannot give reciept
of the changes due to technical problems in the computer systems.

I informed him that I want to convert this connection into a prepaid
connection to which the customer service executive informed me that there
were no SIM cards available in stock.

Since then I have visited two of your centres Vaishali Sector 4 Ghzbd and
Noida Sector 12 (near Metro Hospital) twice each and each time i have been
informed that there is no SIM card in stock.

I think it is more of a reluctance of Airtel to convert my postpaid
connection into prepaid rather than an issue of "SIM being out of
stock". The amount of time and petrol I have spent on this already apart
from the mental stress is appalling.

Harassed to the core due to all this I decided to surrender the connection
and called up 121 to understand the procedure of how to surrender the
number. I was told that the connection is still a corporate connection and
the Executive of Airtel at Vaishali centre had only done a change of
address and lied to me that the connection has been transfered. This is
despite that the NOC that I submitted clearly mentioned that the connection
should be transfered in my name and Apeejay will have nothing further to do
with this connection. I fail to understand why should a representative of a
reputed organisation lie blatantly to its customer. No wonder he did not
give me the reciept.

As per my discussions today at Customer Care at 121 with Kapil and Sumita I
want the following to be done at the earliest.

1. Before the end of the current billing period, the phone number to be
transfered in my name. The NOC has already been submitted to airtel hence I
cannot provide that again.
2. Before the end of this billing period , the phone number to be converted
to a prepaid connection.

I am willing to submit required documents but WILL NOT MAKE ROUNDS OF YOUR
SERVICE CENTRES as service at your service centres is below average.

Follow up dated 21st October 08 :
Dear Mr. Singh,

your assurance is dated 9th October and today is 21st October. During this
period 4 executives of Airtel have called me on different dates and time ,
each of them has asked me the case history and then assured me of redressal
in 48 hours. Each time I am expected to repeat the whole story. Yet the
issues remain unsolved.

I am perplexed at the shallow behaviour of each executive. None of them
care to go through the main complaint letter. There seems to be no exchange
of information between two executives who decides to call me. This is clear
laxity in internal coordination.

I am surprised that each poerson has the same questions to ask and I am
expected repeat things which i have already clearly stated in my mail and
have already let some one else know .

Needless to say all the calls come in during work hours and long
conversations of this nature is not feasible. Can i request someone
responsible and senior to take up my case. I aslo request that who ever
calls me should HAVE READ THE MAIL I SENT earlier. It has all details of
the complaint I made.
By the above services it seems It is not Airtel's privilege to have me as a
valued customer & I doubt a long and fruitful association with Airtel.

Expecting atleast minimum standards of services,

Swati Sam
