on 16th June 2008 i requested cancellation of Airtel connection (post paid). I received a call from their outsourced representative offering to convert the post paid to pre paid connection. Which I declined.

On the 18th of June i lost my cell and contacted their office requested to cancell and barr all incoming and outgoing calls. Which was later activated by them without contacting me even though they had my landline number.

The person who got lucky that day was the thief who stole my cell and he contacted their office on 18/06/08 and reactivated the service and the Airtel customer service failed to notice any communication that the service was cancelled and reactivated the same. It seems that per their policy they deactivate service for only 3 days. Now shouldnt they contact the actual owner and verify if they can reactivate the service or if it was the person himself/herself who contacted to activate.

I contacted their office again and spoke to a gentleman by the name Priyank at their Indiranagar office who ensured that the service is not reactivated. Also per his conversation with his supervisor it was made understood that it was the fault of the representative and not my fault. However they have issued court notice to pay an exorbitant amount for something that I have not used and not held the person responsible for reactivating the service.

I fail to understand how without verifying the callers details they could activate the services.

 

Solution of your complaintThey should hold the representative at fault than to ill treat the customer and pay compensation of the harrasment they have put the customer through 
Actionapproach the consumer court and Airtel will need to provide evidence and all documented call history as per law. This information cannot be denied.
