I have purchased a Whirpool RO from Dawar’s Open World Palam Vihar, Gurgaon ( Dawar International Electronics Pvt Ltd) vide bill no. 2334 dated Apr 25,2008 for Rs 14150/- (13500+650) and the same was installed by their service engineer on Apr 27, 2008. The product started giving some noises immediately after three months of purchase and we spent our rest of the months on phone and personal visits complaining to get the problematic parts replaced by the Whirlpool's dealer/ service centre but to no avails.
Finally after threatening to go to consumer court one technician replaced the switch on Oct 27, 2008 after three months of complaints to them. When asked about the inordinate delay, were told that being a new product launch the spares were not instantly available at the service centre. Immediately after replacing the switch, a different sound erupted and the same was once again brought to the dealers/service centre’s notice many a time. The immediate response from the service centre with out even inspecting the product was that such sound is quite normal in Whirlpol’s RO and asked me not to bother about it. Our visits to dealer and telephonic complaints to their service centre not only yielded any results but also refused to part with the complaint numbers. The response from the dealer was that they have already noted the complaint and would coordinate with Whrlpool’s service centre and a service engineer would visit within a day or two. The status always remains same whenever we remind them of our complaints.
We also spoken to the Whirlpool’s service centre only to hear from their Preventive Maintenance people that they would like to render two PM services free of cost after six months of purchase and their technician would come for service the very next day. Since no body turned up we once again placed a telephonic complaint to the dealer and we were told that they would not be extending any support unless we pay for the filter which does not carry any warranty at all.
From the act and conduct of the officials of the company it is evident that they are least bothered towards the grievance of consumers/customers. They always buy time under one pretext or other to service the parts till the warranty is over. We are under tremendous pressure and mental agony as because of this defective/ sub standard RO. It is requested that our RO be repaired/replaced at the earliest as my complaints were four months old.
