I have been using BSNL Dataone broadband connection under plan-Home 750 since August (Broadband taken on Phone No# 23535648 and User Id is 'hackerbybirth_hyd'). Itís been almost 7 years that we started using BSNL Land line phone and there have been no major complaints, until in November when there was some minor disturbance in the phone and a complaint was raised to fix it. The problem was fixed but BSNL linemen introduced a weird problem in my Internet connection. In the first week of November I started facing this strange problem, the Internet looses the connectivity after 6pm in the evening and reconnects again after 8am the next morning on its own. This has been going on for the last 15-20 days. I have raised numerous complaints (The ones that I remember are 36479-raised on 27th of November and 36844-raised on 3rd of December) calling BSNL complaint desk and help desk at 23523767 and 1800-424-1600 numbers respectively, but in vain there was no proper response.
Under the action to one of my complaints a lineman from BSNL by name Nashimha changed the internet cable extending from the pole to my PC, when things did not work out a JE from BSNL by name Narotham Reddy then attended my complaint along with the lineman and changed 2 more cables this time around, but even then the things did not work out. It clearly looked like the lineman and JE both were out of clue on the issue. After observing the issue carefully myself, I noticed that at those times the only event that was occurring was the street lights getting switched on and off, so I assumed that there might be a contact of electricity and telephone lines somewhere on the way which should be caught and fixed. When I advised the same thing to the JE, he arrogantly told me that they have done whet ever they could do from their side and now itís no more in their hands. He also accepted very openly that his knowledge is limited only to changing of cables and seeing whether the problems are fixed or not. He also bitterly told me to use internet during the day hours when it is available and avoid using it is the times of disconnection. After hearing these words of humiliation I approached the BSNL helpdesk again, hoping that some good person might listen to my query, but this time around I was horrified to hear another person saying arrogantly that problems at BSNL sometimes take days, months and even years to be fixed and one should act very patiently in situations like these.
The only reason for me to take internet connection at home is that I am a Software Engineer at Infosys and work from home for my company after I come back from office in the evenings, and during these hours if the internet doesnít work then it does not serve me any purpose since I anyway donít use internet in the morning hours. I am really disappointed with the way the people at BSNL advised me to use internet in the morning hours and avoid using internet in the evening hours when there is disconnection.
I request the authorities at BSNL to look into this case seriously and take stringent action against the people who behaved in an irresponsible manner to the customer. I also request the concerned department to help me in getting the Internet connection back in place after 6pm in the evening.
