I have an Airtel Post paid Connection phone no 9818800998 and is facing major issues from Customer Service. This issue started when I travelled to Calcutta on 1st December 2008. Initially the connection was fine and I was able to make calls however after a few hours it started showing "Emergency calls only". When I called Airtel Calcutta’s customer service, they refused to help and said that issue could be resolved from Delhi. So I had to buy a Pre Paid Card and managed my important calls from that and spent 800/-.

When I came back to Delhi the connection was fine and I was able to make calls. When I called Airtel on 3rd Dec, I was informed that there are no issues with the services.

Then I travelled to Bangalore on 5th December 2008 and when I reached there I had to face the same problem. The connection displayed "Emergency calls only". Then I made a STD call and after 3 attempts I was fortunate to talk to a Customer Service Executive - Savita Verma, who assured me that my Airtel Connection will be fine in 4hrs time and also gave me complaint no. as 816799781. When I called back after 5 hrs I was advised to switch off the phone and then switch it on and select the network manually, however nothing happened.

I called again on 6th December and as usual after a few attempts was able to talk to Customer Service Executive - Sangeeta. When I requested to talk to the supervisor she answered that nobody is there in the office and will arrange a call back, though nobody called back. She also gave me a complaint no. 817256972. As I had to call Airtel Customer Service 11 times in 2 days, I spent 673/- on my STD. Finally left with no option I had to buy a Pre Paid Connection and I spent 550/- on it.

After coming back to Delhi, I called Airtel Customer Service on 9th December 2008. This time the call was answered by “Satok Singh”. After explaining the complete case I requested for a supervisor, for which was informed that the supervisor is out for a tea break. When I shared that I will wait him to come back, “Satok” shared that this time he will ensure that nothing will go wrong. I shared with him that I will be traveling to Chandigarh on 9th Dec evening and it’s my engagement on13th Dec so I need to invite people and coordinate for the arrangements. “Satok” very confidently promised that he will personally insure that the connection will work and in case it doesn’t then he will resign and he also gave me complaint no. 818970096, stating it is his ID no. And again the Airtel connection didn’t work the moment I was out of Delhi. I spent 1300/- with a pre paid connection there. In spite getting a connection I had to face major issues with the arrangements as various vendors were unable to call me.

In spite all this I called Airtel on 15th December and had a word with Customer Service Executive – Devender Singh and requested him to call a supervisor on the line and after arguing for 15 mins he called the supervisor named Suresh Sharma who was extremely impolite and said from there end they have reset the services and can’t help me further. I requested him to call manager, and after 10 minutes he agreed. After which I had to wait for long on hold and then Anshul Nanda came on the line and shared that he is the manager and will inform seniors about it. This time in spite of my request no complaint no. was given and I really doubt if they are serious about this issue.

I would request you to please take immediate action in regards to the services outside Delhi on my number and also take action on the Customer Service people for the inconvenience caused.
