Sub: Complaint about defective vehicles delivered to us by ARAS PVPV, Madurai.

I purchased a TATA Indica on the 12th May 2000 and another Indica V2 on the 22nd of February of 2002. The performance of both the vehicles was satisfactory. I am using those 2 vehicles even now. Due to my recommendations my family members have purchased 12 numbers of TATA vehicles
On the 19th of December 2008 I ordered 2 numbers of TATA Indica Vista Aura cars in ARAS PVPV, Madurai and the payment for both the vehicles were made by demand draft on the same day, since the executives Mr. Jeeva Ramu & Ms. Abitha confirmed the availability of the ordered vehicles with them and provided me with the engine number and chassis number of both the vehicles over phone. They assured to deliver both the vehicles at the same time on the 23rd of December.
But for my disappointment they delivered the first vehicle only on the 24th of December shockingly with the following defects:
1. Bonnet not fitted properly
2. Front right door power window glass not functioning properly
3. Boot doesn’t open with the key, but opens with the lever only
4. Right indicator doesn’t release automatically
5. Mud flaps & floor mats not present
The delivery of the second vehicle was delayed for further 14 days and we got the vehicle on 6th of January 2009 after very long conversations and arguments over phone with the above mentioned executives of ARAS PVPV, Madurai. Adding to my previous shock this vehicle came with more severe defects, with worse performance compared with the first one. The defects are:
1. Excess smoke emission
2. Excess engine sound
3. Less pickup compared with the first vehicle of the same brand and model
4. Rear left door hand rest not properly fitted
5. Rear left and front left door hand rest are old looking and damaged
6. Whole inside of the car was very dirty with grease prints while delivery
7. The tray under the front left seat missing
8. Mud flaps and floor mats not present
9. Headlight high beam not properly focused on the road
10. Much vapour found inside the headlights
11. Seatbelt alarm not functioning
12. CD player remote control not present
13. Vehicle has not even been given a basic wash before delivery
Because of the above defects and the grease dirt, I doubt that this second vehicle is not a brand new vehicle but an old one. This is very depressing as this is the worst dealing I have ever made in my life.
