I had purchased the HP laptop for Rs.66000 in hyd. after 8 months, i visited the service center to just inquire if the system was working well, and i wanted some servicing done before the warranty was expired. also since my battery backup became too low in 8 months, i was furious and gave my complaint with absolute stress. they replaced my battery and gave a receipt which clearly stated 'laptop tested, no problem'
after that, i had to return to my college in kerala. when i went back, i saw that the system was very slow and that it couldnt burn DVD's or read DVD's either for that matter. i couldnt come to hyd in my semester, by the time i came back to hyd, it had been about a month since the warranty had expired. first time i gave it, they returned saying no problem, charging me the 300 rupees as stardard ...then i give it again after i find that the laptop wasnt even switching on. then they tell me that the mother board has a problem and that it would cost me appx 20k for repair. i was furious that within just 14 months after i spent 66k on a laptop, that he tells me that it wont work! i asked him what i could do...he smiles and tells me to go repair it in a local store for Rs.8-10 k.
i mean, i got so pissed after this, that i threw that laptop in the attic.
what kind of lousy service is that and what sort of ridiculous products do they manufacture? my friends at college, 5 of them had the same problem with the dv2000 series too. i hope the HP hotshots do something fast. we have been cheated very badly.
now, the HP service people tell me that i have to get the laptop repaired at their center only if i would want an extension of warranty. this is a total outrage...so many of us got duped with that worthless piece of crap. how do they expect me to spend 20K on repair and then an additional 5-7k on renewing the warranty?
