I took the above system from one of the HP dealers, Ms Softronics Computer Systems at Mumbai. The system used to take a lot of time for booting, at times 30 minutes. I lodged the complaints with the HP and the local service Redington sent their technician , who reformatted the hard disk and in that process I lost the entire data. He removed all the games which are part of the software provided by HP. I increased the ram memory to 512 mb. Still the problem persisted, at the instance of my dealer;

To my surprise the matter was left abruptly and when I lodged complaint, the call centre at Noida used to give 2 hours online instructions. As a result, I stopped lodging the complaints.

The problem got aggravated in a couple of months, whenever we open the spreadsheet or webpage, the system used to hang in between , with the CPU usage showing 100% , though the memory both primary and secondary are quite sufficient. I again lodged the complaint and once again the system Hard disk was reformatted. Still the problem could not be identified. I need to reboot the system ¡Vin the process will lose the data

I had written to the company in January 2006, asking for the replacement as the system has severe configuration compatible issue. I learnt that the particular model is discontinued as it had problems.. I have offered for the replacement with HP Pavilion M7380 In Media Centre PC in place of the existing one and to pay the difference.

To my surprise HP deputed their technician, who spent almost 6 hours at my residence, and finally asked for the reformatting the hard disk. I bluntly refused

Sir, in the past 10 months, I had sent over 145 e mails to the HP officials / Redington ( service centre ), 3 times reformatted the HDD, increased the memory, 37 technical visits of Redington technicians at my residence spreading over 60 hours, 46 hours of talk with HP online support at Noida, 19 mails to ¡¥ e mail Balu ¡¦- Chairman ,HP , 23 register a complaint mails. Ten mails sent directly to the office of Mr Balu Doraiswamy ,Chairman /Mr Ravi Swaminathan ,VP, customer support

Sir, now I realized that Hp is least bothered to consider my complaint and in 20 days the system will go out of warranty and they could conveniently escape from their liability. In view of the above, I would request your good self to take up with HP and compensate Rs 96000 towards the various cost , detailed below:

I hope to get the redressal immediately before the system goes out of warranty.

ActionWill still pursue thru newspapers and other media so that other consumers are aware of the HP service
