I got an airtel connection in june 2006 for the purpose of using the internet. Airtel says that the connection speed is 115.2 Kbps, the customer care people say that i will get a speed of about 40-50 Kbps, but unfortunately the speed i receive is never more than 2-3 Kbps in day and 5 Kbps in the night and this speed only on some lucky times, otherwise even sites like google wont open. I talked to the customer care people and they said that some maintainance work is going on and once it gets completed, the speed will be normal again. It sure was a lie as it has been about 2 months since then and the speed is still the same. 

Solution of your complaintAirtel will need to increase the bandwidth of the LAN that it creates of GPRS users
