Faulty Product & poor Service
This complaint is with regards to my faulty Compaq Laptop (CQ40) and the pathetic service I have received from HP Call/Service centre.
I bought a Compaq Presario Laptop from EZONE, Mumbai on 18th March Model No.********40T8.
My Laptop has a display problem, as some lines have appeared on the display monitor on the lower bottom of the screen. I have been facing this issue since January 10.
I contacted the customer service centre over the phone vide mobile phone in the month of January 10 explaining two problems & also gave him my model number of the Laptop.

2. Windows stops functioning whenever I try to run a movie
Kindly note that I didnít receive any customer complaint number at this call, also I was unaware that a complaint number was to be issued.
The HP agent suggested that for the second problem that I reload the windows from my recovery disc and for the first problem visit a service centre.
He gave me addresses of 4 centres.
1. Jaynagar 3rd Block
2. Koramangala- behind HDFC bank
3. Indiranagar above More Super Market
4. Maha Electronics - Indiranagar
As I had just shifted to Bangalore at that point and I found it extremely difficult to locate the HP Service centres.
I visited the Jaynagar Branch, where the waiting time was very long, so I had to leave before my turn came.
I visited the Koramangala Centre, where they said that they do not repair Compaq Presario laptops but only normal HP laptops.
Finally I managed to locate a Indiranagar Branch above More super-market, where they informed me that my warranty period had expired, I requested them to consider my case explaining the difficulties I went through locating centres. They asked me to visit MAHA electronics.
At MAHA Electronics despite explaining the situation they refused to consider my case as the warranty had expired & connected me to a lady called Swati of some Technical Support. She obviously refused to help & consider my case.
Here to my utter surprise I came to know that none of my complaints were logged & that even my call of today afternoon at around 3.00pm was also not logged in your records. What was even more surprising was, even my visit to the HP Sakinaka Service Centre in Mumbai regarding a Windows Software Problem which I faced two months after I purchased the Laptop is also not in the records.
Since the agent didnít give a complaint number for my call in January so conveniently the Technical support said that I didnít call & even if I did then I didnít give my Laptop details.
My experiences with HP Compaq product & its services has been despicable and considering the circumstances through which I have been put through I have no intention of repairing this Laptop which is little over a year old. I sincerely expected a lot more of Hp/ Compaq, but I have been sorely disappointed.
