my name is Deepak Sharma..I am basically from himachal pradesh shimla and currently working as a journalist with etv news at Ramoji Film city, hyderabad..I live at a place called vanasthalipuram.
Almost 10 to 15 days back i went to the airtel office branch at vanasthalipuram to enquire about the post paid connections which they offer..
since most of the calls i make are std, so, i was looking for a scheme which caters best to my needs.
A gentleman at that office told me about airtel postpaid 299 Rs. monthly rental scheme..under this scheme std charges are minimal.
I enquired about the documents which i have to furnish to get that connection..
The employees present there gave me plently of options like ration card, driving licence PAN Card etc.
I told them about my inability to produce such documents as i m relatively new to this place.
Then they gave me an attestation form and asked me to get it signed by the manager of icici branch where i have my bank account.
They categorically stated that the form would suffice for all sort of identity and other verifications.
i got it signed with in 2 days from the concerned branch ( they too charged me for that!).
When i went with the duly attested form, the airtel representative told me that this was not sufficient and i will have to produce a bank statement..
Since, getting a bank statement would have taken 2-3 days and i needed the connection urgently, therefore, i asked them, if my salary slip would work as a replacement.
At that juncture, they nodded affirmatively for that and took the required money for the connection (600 Rs.). In return they gave me the sim card with no. 99492 77758.
They also assured that the connection will be activated with in 4 hours..
But it wasnt for three more days. After which i went again to those people and asked the reason for not activating my number..
Their representative at that point of time told me that it will be activated only after ive submitted my salary slip.(At that point, again he told me that salary slip would do.)
So, finally on 31st, i went with my salary slip. But to my utter dismay, the chaps again dilly dallied.. They made me to sit there like fools for almost half an hour and then told me that they would inform me whether my connection is to be activated or not at my friends cell..
i feel mentally harrased because in the pursuit of this connection, i lost my time, my money and could not even buy some other connection, owing to their false assurances..
And above all i was bereft of talking to my home all these days.
If they could not give a regular connection, they should have made it clear at first instance itself.
As of now, there is no response from company. 

Solution of your complaintpayment of damages or whatever applicable under consumer laws in such cases..  
Action1)Sue them. 2)i will never ever again buy any airtel product or service and recommend others as well to follow the suit.
